Inside the Wooster location

Teaching Touches was established as a retail parent-teacher store by a teacher and a school secretary in Erie, Pennsylvania in the early 1990s. Twenty years later the founders were ready to move on with their lives and offered the store for sale. Cheri McGuire and Barry Romich were introduced by a mutual acquaintance and purchased the business. Cheri managed it for a number of years. With changing circumstances and a rather depressed Erie economy, the decision was made in 2018 to establish a location in Wooster, Ohio and eventually to close the Erie location. In 2020, the business ownership was transferred to Wayne Center for the Arts, in Wooster. Current location:

237 S Walnut St.
Wooster, OH 44691

The Teaching Touches product line is oriented toward classroom materials as well as support of parents, especially those who are home schooling their students. One area of emphasis is STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). The Makerspace Cart shown in the photo on the right addresses that topic. Teaching Touches is an excellent resource for gifts for students Pre-K through Grade 6.
